BUILDING BLOCKS OF PRIVATE PRACTICE
Join Katia Callan, LCSW-C, as she details ways to build a strong and lasting foundation to a successful private practice. This session covers not only basic setup and structure but also encourages critical self reflection as a key task. Participants can expect to learn a step by step process to “hang your shingle.” Come prepared to explore and challenge your own barriers while planning your next steps. Whether you are a newer clinician or have been in the field for years, you will walk away with answers to common questions along with concrete action items to build your future practice.

Katia Callan, LCSW-C has been in the human services field for 20+ years working in a variety of settings and roles. In 2010 Katia opened her private practice and quickly realized her goals of a steady client base and numerous referral streams. Katia’s group practice, Insight Wellness of Maryland, opened in 2016 in order to accommodate organic growth. Insight has now boasts a team of 10 clinicians operating in three states. In addition to growing her group practice, Katia is an adjunct professor at University of Maryland School of Social Work, the Co-Founder & Co-host of Insurance Answers Podcast, as well as a board approved social work supervisor, trainer, and business consultant. When not working she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, getting outside with her pup, reading a good book, and listening to live music.
