WE HAVE EXCITING NEWS TO SHARE!
LCPCM has taken an important step to ensure the issues impacting our profession (such as receiving reimbursement for telehealth services, having the ability to provide services to minors who are too afraid to get parental consent and protecting the rights of people with mental illness or substance use disorders) are not overlooked in Maryland’s political arena. We have created a PAC (Political Action Committee) that will screen and endorse candidates running for state offices.
The PAC needs you!
Please consider joining the committee on the ground level! In the next few months we will be setting the vision and plan for the very important 2018 state election cycle (all 188 seats in the General Assembly along with the Governor and Attorney General’s office are up for election). Joining the PAC will give you front row access to candidates and help LCPCM educate them about the issues important to professional counselors in Maryland.
So if you have, or want to catch, the political bug, please join me in this exciting new adventure!
You don’t need political experience, just a desire to help us get people who care about our issues in office!
Carol-Ann Trotman, LCPC
