Therapists are responsible for counseling individuals, groups, or families to diagnose and treat mental health disorders. This includes recording the clients progress in treatment and creating a safe environment for clients per the ethics outlined by their professional license.
- Therapist Responsibilities -
● Diagnose and treat mental health disorders through research driven interventions.
● Create a treatment plan based on each client's needs.
● Maintain documentation of all client charts as the primary responsible party.
● Document services no later than 48 hours after service; actual start and duration as well as coding to be updated immediately following the service.
● Facilitate sessions with individuals, groups, or families.
● Refer clients to specialists if necessary.
● Monitor client progress during treatment.
● Option to supervise up to 2 clinical interns after 6 months.
● Support community relations and collaborative efforts with stakeholders to include schools.
● Serve as a representative of the agency and support maintaining ethics standards as outlined by licensing boards, COMAR and accreditation.
● Attend agency identified EBP trainings and ensure compliance to protocols.
● Ensure quality treatment of patients through warm interaction and strengths-based approach.
● Responsible to gather school data and develop reports as requested by the state and school system.
● Maintain collaboration as the point person for the client’s treatment team to include TIS staff, school contacts and external providers.
● Build relationships in hosting schools and abide by school rules.
● Ability to complete initial evaluation for assigned cases as well as support initial evaluation of additional cases.
● Cross train in other departments to develop a working knowledge of the agency as well as provide support as needed.

● Clinical documentation to be completed 24-48 hours after the service is provided treatment plan to be completed within the first 30 days of treatment. Therapist is ultimately responsible for keeping the client’s chart up-to-date.
● Willingness to stay updated on new treatments, protocols, and licensure requirements within the field, or as outlined by their board of ethics.
● Passion for advancing the therapy fields.
● Maintain 20-25 units of service weekly.
● Maintain office hours as identified by the hosting school.
● Attend supervision meetings at least monthly.
- Therapist Education and Experience Requirements -
● Minimum of a Master’s degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or a related field
● Licensed as a LCMFT, LCSW-C, LCPC, LGPC, LMSW, LGMFT
● Follow standards of Confidentiality.
● Meet all necessary state licensure requirements and maintain licensure.
● Maintain good standing with the governing entity and ethics board.
- Therapist Work Hours, Pay Rate, & Benefits -
● Expectations: Work Hours as determined by the School-based Clinical Supervisor with coordination of the Clinic Director and Chief Operating Officer. Hours are worked in the school setting with the exception of school closures and early release. When schools are closed, this position is expected to work in clinic; remote work permitted with approval. Therapist role is a salaried full time position at 35+ hours per week to include one regular evening shift per month (as needed to meet with family, attend school functions, etc.).

Pay: $65,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
