Community Based Therapist

Therapists are responsible for counseling individuals, groups, or families to diagnose and treat mental health disorders. This includes recording the clients progress in treatment and creating a safe environment for clients per the ethics outlined by their professional license.

- Therapist Responsibilities -

● Diagnose and treat mental health disorders.

● Create a treatment plan based on each client's needs.

● Facilitate sessions with individuals, groups, or families.

● Refer clients to specialists if necessary.

● Monitor client progress during treatment.

- Therapist Expectations -

● Remain professional in interactions with clients and other professionals.

● Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.

● Excellent interpersonal communication skills with the ability to actively listen.

● Solid relationship-building capabilities.

● A positive and compassionate attitude.

● Keen attention to detail.

● Ability to effectively manage time and prioritize needs.

● Clinical documentation to be completed 24-48 hours after the service is provided; treatment plan to be completed within the first 30 days of treatment. Therapist is ultimately responsible for keeping the client’s chart up-to-date.

● Willingness to stay updated on new treatments, protocols, and licensure

requirements within the field, or as outlined by their board of ethics.

● Passion for advancing the therapy fields.

● Maintain 20-25 units of service weekly.

● Provide mental health therapy in the home/community/clinic; offer at least one evening per week for scheduling.

- Therapist Education and Experience Requirements -

● Minimum of a Master’s degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or a related field

● Follow standards of Confidentiality.

● Meet all necessary state licensure requirements and maintain licensure.

● Maintain good standing with the governing entity and ethics board.

Pay: Salary positions offer a base salary identified by license with opportunity to earn overage. Preference to school-based, clinic-based, community based and hybrid licensed therapists. In addition, fee for service options are available with limited benefits.
