Trauma-Informed Care & Focused Supervision Group is Now forming for January 2023. The supervision group will be offered in person and on a HIPPA compliant telehealth platform. It will be facilitated by Candice R Dickens. Ms. Dickens is dually licensed as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and a Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor in the State of Maryland and the District of Columbia. She is pursuing her Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision at Saybrook University and is a nationally certified trauma therapist. She has over 31 years of experience in the field of behavioral health and is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Imago Therapy, Ericksonian Hypnosis, Brainspotting, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Somatic Experiencing, and Level 1 Internal Family System. In addition, she is a frequent speaker at the Psychotherapy Networker, a PESI faculty member, and the owner of the BIPOC Trauma Directory Color of Trauma and Healing. BOPC approved supervisor offering individual face to face or virtual supervision.
Supervision hour includes 30 minutes devoted to growing your skills as a new counselor through focused learning and discussion of specific weekly topics. Topics include transferring to LC, clinical interview, treatment planning, specific mental health disorders, ethical issues, and self-care. The remaining 30 minutes focuses on reviewing current cases.
